Internacionalização Silenciosa na Universidade Estadual a Distância da Costa Rica

Características e comportamento ao longo do tempo de estudantes universitários de acordo com seu país de origem

Resumo

Este artigo tem como objetivo fornecer uma caracterização detalhada dos estudantes da Universidade Estadual a Distância cujo país de origem não é a Costa Rica, a fim de compreender suas principais características e seu comportamento ao longo do tempo. O estudo utiliza um conjunto de dados em painel que contém informações históricas sobre os estudantes, seu comportamento de matrícula, dados demográficos, nacionalidade e apoio institucional. A amostra compreende um total de 17.825 observações distribuídas em 4.017 grupos únicos de estudantes, desde o primeiro trimestre de 2015 até o primeiro trimestre de 2024. Foram empregados modelos de regressão de efeitos fixos e aleatórios, juntamente com análise de clusters para identificar grupos homogêneos nos dados estudantis, e análise de ANOVA para avaliar diferenças significativas entre os clusters identificados. Os resultados confirmam um efeito positivo e significativo da ajuda financeira no comportamento de matrícula em créditos da população estudada. O estudo sugere que é relevante para a instituição desenvolver políticas de ação afirmativa para essa população, bem como políticas de internacionalização regionais e globais mais amplas.
