Sergio Ramírez: the Modern Between Science, Journalism and Literature

Qué significa ser modernos en Centroamérica constituye, quizás, una pregunta clave para interrogar –al menos, en parte– la obra del escritor nicaragüense Sergio Ramírez (1942). “Félis concóloris” (Cuentos, 1963) y el ensayo Balcanes y volcanes (Berlín, 1973) son los textos elegidos para ese objetivo. La relación entre literatura y periodismo, la acción ordenadora de la ciencia, la reflexión sobre el lenguaje formulan los topoi específicos que permiten vislumbrar un intento de caracterizar el área centroamericana, en general, y Nicaragua, en particular, según criterios epistemológicos definidores de lo moderno frente a lo premoderno o no-moderno.
