An apparent migration: subject and genre in "Atravesando fronteras/Crossing Borders" by Gloria Anzaldúa
Abstract
La crítica ha definido a "Atravesando fronteras/Crossing Borders" utilizando diversas características genéricas o la ha descripto como multigenérica, de composición textual plural y desarticulada, reflejo de su producción por parte de un sujeto fronterizo, inestable y migrante. Sin embargo, es factible clasificar al texto como ensayo que aborda los núcleos filosofales de la nacionalidad, a saber, la raza, la lengua y la historia, producido por un sujeto mestizo centrado, con un locus único, capaz de representar a los demás sujetos fronterizos. La legitimidad de esa representación surge de la doble situación del sujeto como creador y conservador de la cultura, posición ésta que impide la ubicación del texto en la categoría de testimonio.
