Abstract

This article tries some reflections about links between speeches of time and school logics —particularly of highschool level— related to time appropriation regimes. It looks closely at their coexistence during the origins of educational systems, recognizing in so doing a certain continuity or alliance among such regimes, in order to subsequently present an analysis about the way these links operate nowadays. The article also accounts for the mutations the context of consumer societies imprints upon the time ownership patterns of appropriation of temporality compared to the modern era, and for the tensions the processes of secondary schooling are exposed to in such a context. The approach to these tensions is based on recent research conducted in Argentina about the school experience of young people and adolescents, and on the letter of official documents on the regulation of the Argentine education system. Finally, the article  includes the challenges in the face of manifest tensions.
