Experiences of loneliness in school socialization

Loneliness as a source of suffering is anchored in the living conditions of modernity and affects young people in a particular way. This article analyzes the experiences of loneliness of high school students in the school environment. The testimonies obtained in the framework of a qualitative study allow us to interpret that the relationships between generational pairs marked by contempt and indifference are processed through practices of isolation and violence against one’s own body. Lack of respect represents a sign of humiliation that sets limits to the possibilities of mutual recognition. The loss of emotional supports
that favor the production of social and school self-worth is at the base of the existence without meaning.
