Argentina’s educational context includes a diversity of foreign-language teaching and learning scenarios that require specific materials tailored to meet their curricular needs. In the Province of Córdoba, upper-secondary schools with an intensive foreign languages programme require materials that cater for the specificity of their plurilingual orientation. Given the fact that such materials are not available from the local publishing market, we have started a materials design project to meet that specific need. This article describes the educational context for which the materials are intended as well as the theoretical
framework that supports their design and presents sample activities that are part of a model teaching unit for the aforesaid context.
