Abstract

This study critically examines digital nomadism as a contemporary expression of mobility capitalism in Latin America. Drawing on a theoretical-interpretative approach and a review of recent literature (2020–2025), it explores how discourses of freedom and autonomy conceal new forms of structural dependency, territorial inequality, and labour precarisation. The findings reveal selective mobility regimes and legal gaps that reinforce asymmetries between tourism, work, and global citizenship, exposing the persistence of unequal power relations within the geography of mobility.
