Life Story of a research group: meaning the processes of teacher education

Abstract

This text aims to show a small and significant part of the life history of the Group of Studies and Research in Education and Social Imaginary [GEPEIS], of Education Center, from Federal University of Santa Maria, analyzed in the research project The group as teacher training device held from 2007 to 2012. The main objective was to investigate whether a group space can be thought as a device for teacher training. In times of complexity and also the net and ephemeral relations, talking about relationships and collective learning may seem a little off today, provided the guidelines and current projects in the personal and professional life and institutional environments with established conceptions of individualism and competitiveness. Since this is a group that has its conception and organization referenced in the field of the social imaginary, we move the conceptual tools of creation, reading of an introduced and the new introduction on educational research, but above all, the formative experiences provided by device group in the university space.
