Author Guidelines

Instructions for authors:

Submissions must be made via this platform using the "Submission" tab.

The submission must be original and previously unpublished work. The Editorial Team reserves the right to accept and publish works that are not previously unpublished (e.g., Spanish translations of articles by prominent foreign researchers); in such cases, the author must disclose this fact and provide the appropriate references.

Declaration regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence in academic work: The Editorial Team of *La Aljaba, Segunda Época* requires authors to be transparent about the use of artificial intelligence where applicable, specifying which systems were used, for what purpose, and at which stages of the research or writing process.

Submissions must meet the following requirements

They must be prepared in Microsoft Word format and must not use underlining, bold text, or all-caps.

The header must include the title, authorship, and full institutional affiliation. Article titles must be provided in both Spanish and English, accompanied by an abstract (in Spanish and English) of no more than 200 words and 4 or 5 keywords (in Spanish and English). Immediately following the title, provide the author's full academic details (university or institution of affiliation, researcher status—e.g., affiliated researcher, independent researcher, etc.). Additional institutional information may be included in a footnote.

Articles: must not exceed 7,000 (seven thousand) words or 38,000 (thirty-eight thousand) characters (excluding spaces), including notes, bibliographic references, and graphic material.

Book reviews: must not exceed 1,300 (one thousand three hundred) words or 6,800 (six thousand eight hundred) characters (excluding spaces); the book being reviewed must have been published no more than five years prior to the date of submission.

Miscellanea: texts covering topics such as academic activities, community outreach, event commentaries, interviews, and news of interest; the length must not exceed 1,000 (one thousand) words or 4,000 (four thousand) characters (excluding spaces).

Citation and formatting criteria for the contribution must adhere to the APA Style guidelines (7th edition) for academic articles.

Authors' surnames and first names must be included—both in the text and in the bibliographic references—to ensure gender visibility in scientific output. The full name (first name and surname) should be used upon the first mention, while subsequent mentions should use the surname only. Furthermore, language used in contributions must be non-sexist; that is, it must not discriminate against or render invisible women or other identities.

Citations of books and articles must be included within the main text (rather than in footnotes). All in-text citations must correspond to entries in the References list. Citations should indicate the author's surname in parentheses, followed by the year of publication and the page number (e.g., Joan Scott, 1996, p. 43). If two or more documents share the same author and year, they should be distinguished by adding a lowercase letter after the year within the parentheses (e.g., Fraser, 2015a). When a reference has two authors, their surnames should be joined by "and" (e.g., Stoetzler and Yuval-Davis, 2002). For publications with more than two authors, the citation should be abbreviated by listing only the first author's name and surname, followed by "et al."

At the end of the paper, a list of references for cited works must be provided in alphabetical order, including the following details: a) Author’s surname and first name, to ensure gender visibility in scholarly output; b) Date of publication (in parentheses); c) Book title (in italics); d) Place of publication; e) Publisher; f) Volume or part number, if applicable. If the publication is available online, include the URL or DOI.

Footnotes may be included to provide further clarification of the text's content. Do not include unnecessary citations.

Tables and graphs must be included separately from the text, with their corresponding sources indicated.

Submitted manuscripts will not be returned, even if they are not published.
